I love it when I mention something on the tech side that I think has reached enough of a mainstream that I can put it into conversations and some old person has no clue what I'm talking about.
Today a coworker said "What's TiVo?"

I and another coworker (and old one to boot) explained to her how it works and her eyes got big. What cave does this lady live in??
She then asked me if she could resell her 6 year old Gateway. "It looks just like that" she said, pointing to an old monitor on our desk. Not the computer, just the monitor.
She's not an idiot either. It's just that all this stuff is like Japanese to her. I spend a lot of time giving her careful explanations of why the library's computer system does what it does, but it just doesn't make sense to her.
