1) You have 6 months, it's a semi-anual event. 2) Just keep your eye on MP, or look for the subtle clues around here that it's coming. Very subtle, such as threads titled, "MouseAdventure Registration is Open!!!!!!!!!" 3) Again, I can understand your confusion with cryptic threads such as "Looking for a MouseAdventure team?" or "I need a MouseAdventure team mate".
