The flames were sparked by neon lights along the edge of the roof and spread to the third floor. No guests were hurt, but two firefighters suffered minor leg injuries, according to a fire department dispatcher.
The fire was extinguished in about 40 minutes, the fire department reported.
The fire damaged 18 units of the motel. A damage estimate was not immediately available.
Because of the fire, 360 guests were evacuated, but 210 were allowed back into their rooms later. The remaining 150 people were accommodated at other motels and hotels nearby, according to the fire department.
