5 years ago, as we prepared to go to Italy, we went to the foreign currency exchange place in DTD. I pulled out my check book to write a check, the lady helping us asked me for ID. Unfortunately, the address on my license didn't match the address on my checks. So CP had to pay instead.
Noticing that my license address was from the Valley, she started chatting about where we were from. She mentioned that she graduated from Monroe High, and I said, "What a coincicence, so did my mom, and she teaches there now." She asked what year my mom graduated and I said, "Umm, it must have been 1965," to which she said, "[My mom's name]? No, it was 1956, we were best friends."

If only we had had that conversation 5 minutes before I wouldn't have had to tear up a check.
