It is like losing a family member. One of my very earliest memories as a child is sneaking into the living room(I was about 2) late at night to see what mommy and daddy were laughing about. There on the TV was a nice looking man who was sitting at a desk with a Big City behind him....and indoor trees.....I of course always got caught but more often then not ended up on mommys lap rather then back in bed. By the time I was in school my Johny Carson watching days were over.........until I rediscoverd him in the 8th Grade when I set my own bedtime ..........I watched him nearly every night from then on. When people started talking that he should retire and that he was getting old I always said "no way, he is still the King of Late Night. "

This is so very sad to me, I really can't believe it
