Of course, they could have just chopped the middle part with McAdams and Gosling and presented a 30-minute short with Garner and Rowlands and I'd have been happy.
A friend of mine had the misfortune of being on a plane that showed The Notebook. Quite possibly the most crying ever done on an airplane. The infants were thinking "oh god, just shut up you people."
