Ahem, I saw her live in 1999 as she opened the Grammy's. I never cared for her before that, but she put on a great show.
It was most certainly
not all downhill from there on that night, as Moby and U2 also gave great live performances, and host Jon Stewart was hysterical during the commercial breaks when the show was off the air.
I always found the Grammy's boring on TV ... but "live" it was like some awesome rock'n'roll variety show, with a terrific comedian host. Oh, and there were some award thingies given out between constant live musical numbers.
