I'm using Snapstream as my DVR. In addition to basic TIVO like functions I have remote access. From any high speed internet connection (ie work
) I can login to it, setup new recordings, watch existing recordings or even watch live TV. Try that with your tivo. Plus it has the 30-second skip and auto-commercial marking plus it's easy to burn a DVD of a show. Of course you need to have a beefy PC to run it on so cost can be a factor....
