ETA - I worked on this post for far too long and GD beat me to it.
GD is now saying that he will probably be able to fly back and attend. Plus, the current plan is that we'll both be in San Francisco on the prior weekend (2/25 - 26).
I'm for keeping it the last weekend before the closure because then we really are among the last to ride. The original thing was Sunday simply because it IS the last day to ride it, but moved to Saturday to accommodate the largest group. I'd be bummed if Lisa and Chris can't make it, that's for sure
but but but but....
Anyway, If people want to do things the weekend before that, go for it.
