McCloud - another good one gone

Dennis Weaver, best known as McCloud, has passed away at age 81. (The early eighties appear to be hazardous to the health of TV actors this week.) I liked Mccloud a lot as a youngster, but I haven't seen it in ages.

My own favorite Weaver appearances are:

DUEL - Dennis Weaver is up against an unseen but psycho truck driver in this Spielberg made-for-TV classic.

WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH HELEN? - A campy, creepy movie from 1971 starring Debbie Reynolds and the also recently departed Shelley Winters. Weaver is the romantic interest in this colorful entry in the "has-been horror hag" cycle, written by Henry Farrell, author of WHATEVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE. (By the way, HELEN makes an ideal double feature with the very disturbing DAY OF THE LOCUST.)
