That 'commercial' was from the mid-90s, well before jeans waist lines dropped south of the equator. Even then, when waist lines were, well, at the waist, mom jeans with their waists above the belly button, zippers the length of a forearm, and oh-so-flattering balloon pleating stood out like a sore thumb.
