No lobster - at least to eat, but we did have a fantastic day with Ralphie and GC. We first went to Walden Pond and hiked around for a bit. There was a really good actor playing Thoreau who invited us into his tiny tiny cabin and, after being initially freaked out, I loved listening to and chatting with him. I'm amazed how close to civilization proper a completely rural area lies.

We then went off to Salem and wandered around there for the afternoon. I took way too many pictures in the graveyard, searched for black cat items and walked out to a lighthouse in the harbor. We found many old pottery shards lying about that presumably were dredged up from the bottom of the bay. There is also a replica of a tall ship moored on the spit of land that holds the lighthouse. I misread the name as "Friend of Satan" (it was called Friend of Salem ).

We then went back to Harvard for a tour of Ralphie's lab and a visit with pickled deep sea creatures.

It was a fabulous day spent exploring new places with great friends. I am utterly exhauster but satisfied.

Tomorrow we will pack our belongings, take one last excursion and get on a plane home to kitties. But, I WILL miss sweet Frodo when I'm gone. He's turned into an AWSOME dog (with awsome parents).
