I don't think it is rude, as long as they want the assistance. I think that can add to their experience as long as we (AP's) don't go overboard.

I know for myself I have a lot more knowledge than some others care to know, and remembering to just give the assistance that is asked. Then if they inquire more and I can expand on my vast minutiae knowledge. As long as I remember they asked the time, not how to build a watch, I don't walk away thinking that I may have scared them.
