I really loved the books....I read them the week before the movie came out....talk about putting it off. It was driving my daughter CRAZY that I wouldn't read them. Then I started and could NOT stop.

I thought the movie was good. It didn't quite capture the book's little idiosynchrasies....like it would have been very cool if they would have endlessly defined words. It would have been so easy to add that in and would be so true to the book. It always cracks me up how inventively the definitions are added. My daughter really learned some great words from the books!

I thought Jim Carey was really good. I'm no Carey fan, but I thought he was unlikeable, funny, and a total jerkoff in the movie. Olaf is a jerk.....but in the most bizarre ways. I thought Carey fit in the role.

We laughed a lot. My husband hadn't read the books....so he was really cracking up. He was just so shocked by the dark humor. He kept saying, "Their parents JUST died!!!" while laughing.
