I can't fathom why people like his stuff. Aside from Christmas Carol they all just go on and on and on and on....damn serials.
Only one time in my life have I taken an essay exam on a book I never read. That book was
Hard Times. Some lit class or another when I was an undergrad. Blahblahblah. Misery, misfortune, woe. Dickens and Cooper: just say no.
