Are we sharing injuries? Hmm..my brother (Smee!) once broke my collar bone, clean in half. We were playing around at my late best friend's apartment, and he was going to try to flip me like my late Grandpa used to do when I was a little girl (key phrase: little girl). I bent over, he pulled my wrists through my legs and flipped me right on top of my head, knocking me unconscious. I was fortunate I didn't snap my neck! Instead, I snapped my clavicle/collarbone, and when I came to, I was totally dizzy and couldn't move.

Cut to the ambulance. WHOO-OO-WHOO-OO ( <--dramatic siren sounds for effect).

One half of my collarbone was poking upward, almost piercing through my skin. I spent that lovely summer in a brace.

About 3 to 4 months later, I woke up with a pear-sized lump in my neck. I was already scheduled to have my collarbone X-Rayed, and when I went to see the Doctor, He immediately had me admitted to the hospital. I stayed in the hospital for a week, having numerous tests, completley freaked. As it turned out, while my collarbone was healing, it severed a branch off of my subclavian artery, causing internal bleeding and resulting in that lovely pear-shaped blod clot.

Today, I have a crooked left clavicle, a war wound if you will, and an enjoyable story to share at cocktail parties. Thank you, Smee.
