Just because an item seems silly heavy doesn't mean you can't invert and mount it to a ceiling - you just have to be careful to design proper mounting (which is the real tough part, even harder than the initial move into place).
I used to have a full sized no parking sign (complete with old thick wood post) mounted to my ceiling, along with an upside down barcolounger mounted to a side wall... no such gravity defyance in the current home, yet.
