Very cool Podcast. Your story about the merch event was amazing. That'll definitely show non-Disney geeks part of the reason we love Disney so much. I can't believe they refunded your entire ticket! And it's good to hear that that occured in 2000, during Pressler's evil reign.

I loved that you included the Hawaiian War Chant from the Tiki Room. It is one of my favorite pieces. A long time ago and far away (at another board) I once started a thread asking if anyone knew what the lyrics meant. No one did, so I went on a search to find out what the deal was. Apparently it's all gobbledygook, was a hit back in the swing era, and not written by Disney. When it was included in the Tiki Room it was instantly recognizable by the general public. Yet more proof that Disney has always used popular icons in its works. (I'm sure a music Disney geek like you knew all that already, but anyway.)

Just before the TR went down for rehab we had a wonderful meet complete with hawaiian shirts and leis. I printed up copies of the War Chant lyrics so we could all sing along. I got pretty good at singing them too.
