Name some 20 year old changes that are still widely complained about? By someone other than merlinjones.
But my point was that eventually these changes will become the only way that the majority of people remember the ride and as it calcifies in their brains that way they'll lament major changes.

It's the fatalistic note the OP sounded that fell flat for me. Yes change is inevitable and it
can be for the best but that's not always the case and even if a bad change lasts for 20 Years and people grow up with it that does not make it a good thing. People complained about the river boat guns, and the PC makeover of pirates and now some of those changes have been reversed.
