Thanks for the warm welcome back to LoT!
Well, I spoke with Lisa on the drive out, briefly, and I spoke with her again last weekend. Thanks to the pulled groin muscle, I missed seeing NA, E and the Mousepods. :-( The drama with my roomie did not help. But, the bright side is, she is now in Mexico for the next 3 months and I get to unpack and reaclimate myself in peace and quiet.
I already feel much better being back on the home turf, have had good Thai food twice and went to two of my favorite places yesterday, Molinari's Deli for salame, cheese and Italian goods, and then across the street to Stella Pastry for some cookies, biscotti and goodies (no sacripantina, need a party for that).
The pulled groin muscle has been no fun. When I got here and after the movers got here, my roomie had a meltdown with all my stuff (Like I was coming with 1 suitcase?), anyway, so I piled up about 20 boxes of books in my closet to be unpacked after she left. Then the movers arrive with my furniture, she hates it (naturally) and refuses to have the armchair in the living room, tolerates the couch, barely. So I move the armchair in my room, it's huge and unaided and bingo, pulled groin muscle. I can barely walk and I can sit down, but sitting seems to make it worse. Been eating advil like they're M&Ms, but it has been working I am on the mend!
Anyway, Tango is settling in, but spends most of her time in my room, in the armchair! That's her chair anyway. Needless to say, she's not too fond of my roomie (and vice versa) but she (Tango) is being terminally cute and adorable and seems to be adapting to the new surroundings and even some of the street noise.
All is good, I'm enjoying the cool weather and the fog. Tomorrow the smog check for my car and a new temp parking sticker until I get the plates for my car. Tuesday starts the new job (which compared to the job in VA is going to be a breeze, I may well be twidling my thumbs for a change)
Great to be back!
