It's turned into a bit of a slog for me. Of what I've read so far and I'm just now to the part where

I thought Book 1 was the most interesting with only a slight drop off once Kumiko disappeared. However, since Spoiler: Nutmget showed up I've only been able to read a few pages at a time and I seem to have lost most of my interest.
