I had a rat once that had major eye issues. Both of her parents were my pets. She was the runt of the litter. I named her Wilbur. Neither of the eye sockets unsealed, she looked like she just kept them closed, but for obvious reasons they couldn't open. One socket was totally empty, the other had something in it, but not nearly enough for an eyeball. I kept her so that I could be sure she wouldn't be a feeder. She was amazing. She did things that the others wouldn't ever do, because she couldn't see that it was impossible. Her favorite thing was to climb up the smooth side of my desk and eat my eyeshadow. I never bred her mother after that.
On a lighter note, Nickolas got his results from the CAT thing he did in April (Calif Aptitude Test). There weren't any surprises. He is waaaay above average in math and a tad above average in reading/writing, but only when compared to California students. Nationally he is a tad below average in reading/writing and above average in math. They must not have had any reading portions about Yugioh or Pokemon.
