It's a good thing that I can't really afford to go clothes shopping all the time, otherwise I might be clothes shopping all the time. I have a problem with book buying. I'll read one, buy 10, read one of those, and instead of reading the remaining 9, I'll go buy 10 more.
I manage to resist the buying compulsion with clothes, but only because a book never seems as expensive. 1 book for $15-20. 1 shirt - my kind of shirt - for $40 -70. DAMMIT.
So easy in high school when I was ALL about the Salvation Army. I could buy TONS of clothes. But now I lack the patience to go to thrift stores. Vintage stores, sure, but a lot of the time the clothes is still pricey and I get really pissed of a dress I just bought falls apart on me after the first wear.
Ah, how I hate fashion but how I love individual styles. I covet someone with an amazing sense of style. But sadly my tastes lean towards the pricey these days.
I used to mad crazy sweater shopping. LOVE sweaters. But now I'm all about finding the perfect A-line skirts. And blouses. Because of my body shape, the blouses tend to drape off of my chest, and then do not sit snug on my waist. I need really well tapered blouses designed for my specfiic body type. Heh.
Shoes. Because I walk everywhere, I ruin shoes really, really quickly. And after some mad shoe shopping a few months ago I'm not at a point where I need a new shoe collection. Flats and airy for Spring. Back to the garment district I go, I think.
And Jeans. I LOVE JEANS. And so far the only jeans that look good on me are (shudder) Gap jeans. They just flatter. And I need at least two new pairs.
That's right: NEED. Not want. NEED.
Recently I've also been obsessed with silks. I really want light silk blouses and raw silk skirts. Mmm, raw silk.
Like Chris, I love textures.
