Find a good friend that has the fashion sense you agree with and go on a shopping spree. Take several hours to do so. Have a fab lunch with him/her and talk shop and shopping.
I've done this before. (Long long ago...) It's fun. Fashion Island comes to mind or South Coast Plaza...
