A Ride Down Market Street in San Francisco 1903

Every year or so somebody sends me this clip and though I have watched it a half dozen times all ready, I am always drawn back into it. It's an amazing ride down a busy street a long, long time ago.

I've seen this before. What strikes me are the number of people wandering around in the middle of a busy street, the seemingly complete lack of traffic rules, and the fact that almost everything in view will be gone in just 3 years.

Great footage - shame about the poem though, I find it distracts me. I might edit it with a 1906 musical soundtrack. The Main St USA background music should be appropriate time-wise (I think)
