New Family Guy

So, who watched it?

I thought it was pretty good. Not the best episode ever, but definitely good enough to show that the writers still have it (a worry after watching the American Dad pilot). The intro was freakin' sweet. For those that didn't see it, it's worth describing, in spoiler tags in case you still plan on seeing it.

Spoiler:
Peter, the dad of the family, says to the family, "We've been canceled." He says it's to make room for other quality programs on Fox, and then proceeds to list a litany of shows that aired and canceled on Fox since they canceled Family Guy. OMG, it had to be like 30 or more shows, maybe more. He just kept going and going and going. He finally finishes the list and his wife, Lois, says, "So is there no chance we'll be back?" And Peter says, "Well, there is an outside shot. If ALL of those shows fail." Roll opening credits.

Awesome way to start the new season.

I really enjoyed it. Bed Bath & Beyond. LOL.

Even my mom laughed with me, and she's not one for watching cartoons.

Of course I watched it, silly!

And I loved it. I agree, it wasn't the best show ever, but it was definitely a hoot. And I was also pleased that American Dad was funnier than the pilot. They still need to find their groove, but I can definitely see potential.

There is one thing that bugs me about AD though: Francine's (the mother's) lips! They're ridiculously large and they distract me. I can only hope her collagen injections wear off soon.

I tried to stay up and watch but I fell asleep just before 9. I know, I'm lame. The AD spot that they were playing on the radio last week cracked me up though. Where the mom asks "how's the french toast" and the dad answers "smelly and ungrateful but the american toast is fantastic". Maybe I'm the only one that got a kick out of it. It was the tone in is voice. Cracked me up.
