Well that was freaky

A small miracle occured today and both Indi and the baby went to sleep at the same time. Screw productivity, around here that means a nap for mommy. After about an hour of snoozing Karma, my Great Dane, starts barking louder than I've ever heard her before. Waldo (my deaf Great Dane) starts about 30 seconds later. This woke up the baby, cutting my nap short.

We lingered in bed for a minute then got up to glare at the dogs. I come out and look downstairs. I see that the front door has been opened, only to be stopped by the top latch thingy. I go down, there's no note or anything, but our newspaper has been thrown inside. The nextdoor neighbor's house still has a newspaper in the driveway.

If it was someone that wanted to give us the newspaper, why would they make a point of leaving the door open? My family is all at work, I can't think of anyone that would come over in the afternoon. We live in a pretty nice neighborhood in a pretty safe town.

I'm sure there is some explanation other than someone was coming to harvest my organs and sell my kids in the white slave trade, and I'm just too paranoid to see it. Perhaps the newspaper fairy was only visiting every other house today? Ideas? And more importantly, why wasn't my Sheltie barking? Useless little dogs.
