This morning, I interviewed Didier Ghez for The MousePod, and he turned me on to this video.

It was made by Russian animators in 1988 to celebrate Mickey's 60th.

I'd never seen it before, and it really tugged at my heartstrings.

Thanks Jesse! That's a wonderful tribute! Next year is 80 happy years of Mickey, do we know if Disney Corp is going to do anything wonderful to commemorate 80 very happy years of the Mouse?

BTW, that tune was used in at least one of the Ub Iwerks Flip the Frog cartoons. If I remember correctly, I think the one where he is the soda jerk, I don't know the name of it, but I sure remember it.
