Need some advice
Ok our neighbor on one side of the mobile home spaces have two German Shepard dogs. Yes in a mobile home. The dogs have within 5 days broken down the one door of this mobile home next to us. One almost broke thru the window while i was leavin for work on Saturday. I'm deathly scared of these dogs. They cry and bark and right now are tied up by a tree in between our properities. They are usually left inside locked inside with no Air Conditioning either in this heat. I have left a note with managment front office but i don't know if anything's been done. I fear kids safety (there are tons of kids in the mobile home park) as well as pets and even myself. Of course when they bark and cry they get our girls going this is a major pain in the rear. I am tempted to see if anything gets done if not am could i contanct animal control? Any suggestions help needed... i really don't want to see anything bad happen those dogs are a liabitilty.

mmg-
Talk to you manager in person again and be assertive. Let him/her know that this is an urgent matter. If worse comes to worse call the cops. Play the 'safety of children' card. Cops will jump on that. |

Need some advice
GC i agree with you that's why i think it's an urgent matter and i will follow up with the office manager of the park cuz quite frankly no one is home during the day next door and if the manager needs to speak to them no one is at home thus nothin being done. And the dogs as of now were tied to a tree and not even proper rope leash etc. It's just a flimsy rope. I'm so tempted to do somethin to them but i know better than that.
I want to prevent something from happening and it scares me so much to even go outside now let alone walk the girlies (they're so small next to these dogs) and yes they aren't friendly either. I mean they already damaged the door (they have it proped up with some wood and a crutch etc) looks horrible brings down the value of the whole park really. I need to go and look at the exact rules if there are any regarding sizes of pets too cuz they could quite frankly be out of line right there... |

Contact animal control and explain your concerns, their aggressive behavior, and ask that they come out and look into the situation.

^^ Contact Animal control for sure. Write a letter to the manager and save a copy of the letter. (If someone gets hurt, you bet your sweet arse that the manager's first response will be "But I didn't have notice!!!" ..... even if you've told them a million times. PUT IT IN WRITING.) Call your local police department and they'll be able to steer you in the right direction as well (tell them you're afraid that the dogs will injure your children and that the dogs themselves are being abused, and you need to make a report).
Have you tried talking to the neighbors directly? If you aren't too scared to do that, at least write an (anonymous, if you must) letter to them as well.

Really? What's their platform? Do they have the funding to sustain a campaign? Can they really present a viable candidate with such a one-dimensional party line?

HI!
|
In my experience, Animal Control does crap, but at least a report has been made. It's a difficult situation because the fear approach is dealing with possible futures not actual dangerous events. However, I would definitely ask about tether laws in your city. My city has a law that you cannot tether a dog. Not all cities have this law, however and it is perfectly legal to tie up a dog.
For your own safety, always walk the girls with a spray bottle filled with a mixture of vinegar and water. Spraying this on an attacking dog will usually deter the attacker. Pepper spray is also an option. A letter to the property manager is probably the best bet to start with. |
