My Second Life as an Architect

A friend on Second Life asked me to design a house there for her. Here are some pictures of the 1/10th scale model I built. (The actual house hasn't been built yet.)

wow, if only my lappy could run second life, I could have fun living a second life... maybe i will stick to sims and playing god and tormenting my people by changing the world around them like that....

Virtual architecture is much more fun. You don't have to worry about pesky things like engineering and the laws of physics.

Very nice design. I'm inspired- I've got a new computer to design, and I'm leaning towards something styled after Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water.

The house is (finally) under construction. Here are some pics. The basic structure is up, but no windows, doors, or internal walls yet.

The next two are the view from the living room (minus windows).

View from the living room through the center of the house. The ugly exterior view in this direction will be blocked by solid walls.

The view from the patio

The view from the bedroom loft towards the office loft area. Again, the ugly commercial blight will be blocked by the bathroom walls. Note the holes for the unfinished skylights and the brushed copper fireplace hood.
