Ryanair ...?? European Low Cost !
For those of you who went to Europe . Did Someone tried Ryanair already ?
I tried Ryanair once and i liked it . It is like a bus because they have 39min to load and unload the aircraft but it is very cheap less than $50 from Paris to Madrid or wherever you go . The Chairman CEO of Ryanair went to the US to study about Low Cost Airlines and took the exemple of Southwest back in 15 years ago when they were cheap . Now flying southwest it is like flying another Airline it is the same price range . Now if you go to Europe i highly recomend Ryanair for Cheap Prices but the thing is they fly secondary airports to other secondary airports but Europe is smaller than the US so Secondary Airports are like an hour drive wich is not too bad . so for those of you who experienced Ryanair tell me you thoughs . They even dont need stairs they have their own . see the pic ![]() |

I've heard that you need to be careful with baggage though. They have much tighter limits on the weight, and I believe you have to pay to check a second bag.

That is going on in the US as well. Starting in May, United will be charging $25 (each way) for a second checked bag and Spirit already charges but will be increasing their rates soon. And in January, Southwest stared charging for a THIRD bag.
I expect to see this trend continue as airlines keep getting squeezed tighter and tighter.

HI!
|
I haven't had the opportunity to fly RyanAir while in Europe, but I know about them. We have nothing like that here. I envy people who can take weekends in a fascinating place for such little money.

You can only have one carry on at no more than about 22 lbs. That's pretty restrictive for most. Good deals generally though. I would be interested to hear what people's personal experiences have been too. |

Sounds interesting. I'll have to keep that in mind when we go to Crete this summer.

When we do our two weeks in France this fall we won't be checking any luggage and we've been looking at these budget airlines for some side hopping we might do. So fortunately for us the luggage restrictions aren't really a problem.

I used RyanAir multiple times when I was there. It is like JetBlue, using outlying airports.
I used it from London, England->Dublin,Ireland->Glasgow, Scotland->Göteborg, Sweden ->Glasgow, Scotland. Great rates. I will say if you need to make changes to your Itinerary, sometimes it might cost as much as actual ticket. (Or it did at that time, in 2003) It is no frills, but I recommend it for jumps that you don't want to drive or take train. |

Early October. (Paris for just a couple of days since my interest is minimal, then north into Belgium and Luxembourg.)
