Sister Flatfoot

So, I just got some wonderful news just now. My sister, after numerous interviews and testing etc that carried on for months and months, has been accepted to the HPD Police Academy. She's going to be a police officer. She's the top cadet in her class. That's so amazing.
She's following in my dad's footsteps. He's a retired police sergeant.
I am totally and completely happy for her.

But, me being me, it doesn't end there.

I'm happy and completely terrified. Which I don't think is fair, it's not giving her enough credit. She's a tough person.

But it still doesn't take away the fact that I love her and hope that nothing bad happens to her.

I would never, ever tell her that I'm nervous about the whole thing. In fact, I haven't led on at all that I'm worried. But I am.

Urg.

*edit to add: this is my lil sis. My older sis is the psychologist... fake tits...

I'd be worried too. But, I'd also be very proud.

Hurrah for your brave sister. And I think your emotions are totally fair in this instance. No one wants their loved one to be in harm's way. But how proud you must be to have a loved one keep others from harm's way.

congrats to your lil sis GC! You wouldn't be "you" if you weren't a mix of worry and happy/proud of her for accomplishing a goal she's set for herself. It's in our job descriptions as older siblings to worry about the younger ones!
