A Book of Swanky Poety?

I just had a brainstorm folks.

I have realized that we have some some very talented and creative Swankers around here. Wouldn't it be cool if we put our heads together and came up with a collection of Swanky poetry?

I think a lot of us have thought about this, too! We've even, sort of, started on it. Sort of. I am totally for it.

Since you weren't here when the Inspiration threads were in full swing, I'll point out the first threads:

Plus so much great work by so many LoTters, all in the Open Mic thread, if you sort from "the beginning." I could spend hours reading the good stuff in there.

We do have a collection. It's called the Open Mic. As LSPE said, many wonderful pieces are not in the inspiration threads, so feel free to page through the entire forum for years of lovely writing.

If I ever had to choose which to put into a smaller collection, I'd have a very rough time of it.

a poetry book for eL oh Tee?
this is a thing I just cannot see
poetry in general is just kinda weak
and suitable only for the serious geek

I'd never let myself be involved as such
cuz I really could never stand it that much
its just not something I normally do
as most stuff I write is just dull or plain poo

so I fear this indeed, it cannot be done
no one I know writes that stuff just for fun
good luck on collecting and revisiting it
but as poetry goes, I just dont give a ....rats patooty
