Daa Train

Can someone help me figure out the ~~surfliner~~ Metrolink (thanks EM!) train?

I found their site, I found their schedule but I cannot find out their fees. Their schedule is a little confusing too. I was thinking that it would be a good alternative to still be able to see my friends in LA and to take it to hockey games. I live right by the Irvine train station.

I thought the train wouldn't be an option to either since it was so expensive but I was looking at Amtrak rates and not the ~~surfliner~~ Metrolink rates.

Halp please.
