| lost in the fog | Oh, this makes me unbearably sad. I met Forry a couple of times a long long time back, and he was never anything but gracious and funny and charming. Today many monsters weep, too.

| You broke your Ramadar! | Sad to see Forry go. I'm glad I got to meet him a couple of years ago...

				            | I remember a few years ago when Forry was forced to auction off his "Ackermansion" collection of monster memorabilia. I thought that was terribly sad. During my own monster kid-hood, Forry slayed me with his pun-ishing quips and "too ghoul for school" wit. RIP Forry. I can't axe you for anything more. |

				            | He was the Benjamin Franklin of fandom, if that makes sense. He singlehandedly spearheaded the great monster revival of the 60s, and for this we must give him thanks. He also was responsible for bringing the novel of Fritz Lang's Metropolis back into print in the 60s. Written by Mrs. Lang, Thea von Redberry, or something. I met him once at a memorabilia show. He was reminiscing with his pal, fellow icon Ray Bradbury. The conversation spanned King Kong, Fay Wray, Forbidden Planet, Anne Francis and famously bad restaurants. I cherish the memory. Tonight, the monsters weep. |

				            | Just a couple of weeks ago, the man who printed my "NO MORE MR. NICE GAY" t-shirt was telling me stories of Forrest Ackerman. Seems when he was younger, he hung with a crowd that hung with Forry. Apparently, Mr. Ackerman was the agent of a certain sci-fi writer by the name of L Ron Hubbard, and made quite a bit of money from the sales of the book, Dianetics.
