Newport Beach Film Festival

I know this is kind of late notice (my procrastination/laziness got the best of me again!), but I wanted to mention the upcoming Newport Beach Film Festival.

I've never been before, and it goes on for 9 days down in Orange County. This year, I was made aware of it by tramspotter's & my roommate, Eric Murphy, who entered a short film into the programme.

The movie is called Steel Valley, and is based off the real life story of the now U.S. Congressman, Tim Ryan, and his run for Ohio State Senate. I got to work on the film, and just had a whole bunch of fun.

If I was really smart, I would have posted this a couple of weeks ago, like I meant to do, but didn't... So I'm pulling out a last ditch effort to see if anyone's free during the couple of days it's playing... The submitted film is actually not the version it currently is, as the submission date was quite some time ago, but we'd still like to see and hear what people think of it.

The film is a part of a programme called "Ambition, Success, and Shorts About Dorks." It runs 98 minutes in total (all the films combined), and should be a lot of fun.

I'll be attending on Friday at 4:00 PM, and I'd love to see some of you there. If you can't make it, that's cool. The festival is going on for 9 days, and there are a lot of other great short independent films playing there, so you should go check it out, if you can. It's a great way to support the independent arts!
