Free PDF creation software?

I seem to recall reading somewhere that there were non-Adobe freeware programs out there for creating pdfs. Is this true, and can you point me to a good one?

Well, you can do 5 for free at adobe's site. Just upload it and they send you back the converted result. After 5 you need to subscribe.

Beyond that, this program seems to get high marks. I haven't used it myself.

Of course, with a Mac, creating a PDF from any program is native to the OS (starting with OS X).

Try cutepdf.com

It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that distiller does - but if all you need is a basic pdf file it does the job nicely. Works just like a printer - you "print" to the pdf which brings up a save dialog.
