Toy Story Midway Mania

Yeah, there was the preview thread, but that's already old, and the first part of it is full of negativitiy

This ride blew me away! I was giggling all the way through it. The interactive aspect is perfectly done. You really feel like you're shooting these things. Each challenge has a different feel - darts, hoops, balls, etc - and I know it'll take a few more rides to master each one.

GD and I were neck and neck the whole time and he barely beat me. A much different experience from Buzz, where he always killed me 2 to 1, at least. This instant feedback style, where every time you shoot you can see what hits the target and what doesn't, works much better for me. It felt so awesome to find 2000 point targets, and hit them, on my first ride.

I even liked the 2D cardboard cutouts in between each section. Some wonderfully clever stuff in there.

The ride vehicles are crazy machines. No wandering around the track while those things are moving, that's for damn sure.

We were so frightened when we hit the first panel and the practice round didn't work! Thankfully, the rest of the ride went perfectly.

This thing is incredible and I know I'll find myself in DCA more often because of it. Great job, Imagineers!

Hahaha, I laughed through the entire thing, too. Such a giddy, good time. I am surprised and amazed they managed to pull off such a fun ride with so little.

As a shooting game, it's way better than the little laser targets of Buzz Lightyear (although I did find my hand molded into a claw (or is that "craw") after pulling that string for the whole ride.)

The games were a hoot, the sets were all cute, the ride movement fun, the whole experience a total blast!

The queue moved pretty well, too.

Best new ride in ages.

(Um, the two Pixar rides in DCA are great. The two Pixar rides in Disneyland are meh. Move them to Pixarland, and build the Little Mermaid ride in Disneyland where it belongs. Sigh.)

I have no fondness for Buzz so I didn't have many expectations for Midway Mania. I loved it! It was full of fun and excitement and I had a ball. I can't wait to ride it again! That's something I haven't said about an attraction in DCA in quite a while.

I assume it's basically the same as the WDW version.

We stalled a couple of times on our ride. When that happens you can still play but all the targets become zero value. That was a nice touch. High score no longer goes to whoever happens to get parked in front of a high value target like it does on Buzz.

The 3D was fun, but I don't think I "giggled" at all.

Also the way it takes two players working together to get the top scores is interesting.

I loved TSMM. It's a lot of fun. It's very repeatable, imho. I would have liked to see a more creative transition from screen to screen, but oh well.

Love Mr. Potato Head in the queue. Moves a lot, the spiels are pretty funny and the ear thing is pretty neat.

That is a fun attraction. The building details are amazing. I'll definitely be riding again.

It's a fun ride.

Keith & I kept laughing the whole time.

I rode it w/ Rayanna recently & she had a ball too.

I've definitely giggled through the entire experience every time I've ridden TSMM! I love how when time is up you just get flung around the corner right into the next awesome game. If you look around while riding, everyone always looks like they are the most excited. Definitely WIN!

There are several 5,000 point and even a couple of 10,000 point targets that I found last night.

Compared to WDW version its just a mirror except the queue. Though, it seems they put some of the stuff in the ride itself, like the game boxes etc. The queue at WDW is fantastic.
