Think of this as the Misc Movie Musings or Random Political Thoughts for the Open Mic. Written anything interesting lately...or perhaps not so lately?

I just stumbled across this, which I wrote at Camp Swank, 2008.

The rocks that fell, tumbled from towering heights a millenia ago, sit in patient permanence, their surface dotted in moss, crawling insects, a haven for lizards, yet they do not twitch. They will wait, day after day, for the next stage - a tumble further to earth, or to simply be ground away by wind and rain. Every step on their broad, content faces brings them closer.

Carcasses lay prone and garish, but the trees still standing don't look downward. They remember but don't mourn. They take the past and use it for their future. The near permanence of their funerals is ghostly and startling.
