Lashbear's HUGE Hole (in his Wisdom Tooth)

Hi there,

It's epic, so I thought I'd share!!

The procedure only took 45 mins including a filling (on the other side of the mouth), de-scaling all the teeth, and yanking out the offending Wisdom Tooth (upper right).

Seems it had developed a bad cavity behind it (at the rear of the mouth where it joins the gumline - a notoriously hard place to access even with flossing)

As a result, the jawbone had receded to halfway down the tooth, and a rather large hole (or as I like to call it, the Antipodean Grand Canyon) had formed.

There are two pictures contained below. They are in Spoilers for the squeamish. Both are labelled clearly for your selection pleasure. One is a picture of the tooth as viewed from the front (including a souvenir piece of jawbone stuck to it).

The second is the back fo the tooth, showing the size of the cevity in relatioin to the whole tooth. It's quite astonishing, actually, but it explains why I was in such extreme agony for the last 2 weeks. There's only so much Sensodyne can do, ya know.

Here's the front of the tooth with extra added jaw-bits. This would make a great slideshow for your next halloween party.

So in closing, I guess that not only is Bacon now off the list because of the heart, but Maple / Honey / Candied Bacon is DOUBLY off the menu because of dental caries. Le Sigh.
