Recondestruction

So, a good portion of my cousin's town in Alabama got obliterated in last week's tornadoes.

There's debris everywhere - marble from the courthouse, stained glass windows from the church, etc.

So, she's gathering up some small pieces of the debris to send to me.

I'm making them into small art pieces and going to auction a couple on Ebay, and send her the others to sell locally, with all proceeds going to help the town rebuild.

I wanted to think of a way to help, and I'm really excited about this!

Cousin checked in, and she's got several people gathering stuff from all sides of town. She said I'll have quite a box of supplies to work with. It's an exciting project! A fellow artistic friend has also offered to help.

I plan on taking the courthouse marble crumbles, tumbling and polishing them into round beads, then engraving "Hope" or "Future" on them in Latin, and using them as links on suncatchers.
