If anyone can help........
Hello all.
It has been a while since I posted but in that time I packed my house, put our stuff in storage, moved into my sister's house (temporarily until our house is finished being built at the end of the summer), my son graduated pre-school, we went on the disney mexico cruise, entertained out of town guests, well the list goes on and on..... Anyway, I am getting ready to throw my son's 5th birthday party. He is having a fifties bowling party (at a bowling alley) and we want to have custom bowling shirts made and it seems that everyplace I go they want to charge me an arm and a leg. I was wondering if anyone knows someone who does art work for shirts (embroidery and silk screening) or where I could find retro bowling shirts (In little kids sizes!! and reasonably priced!! ) and who could do the work locally. (Most places that offer the services seem to be out of state which means MORE money for shipping etc.) I am sorry to be asking all of you this but I could really use the help and I sure someone could use the business right? (I would rather get someone recommended to me than just randomly picking people out of the phone book and hoping..) If anyone could help I would certainly be very greatful. Sorry my thread is so lame! Thanks all.

HI!
|
I've used several people in the past, but they are all EXPENSIVE! I've been wanting to do LoT Bowling shirts for a while but haven't found a reasonable place. If you DO fine something, please let us know. We will give them more business.

I don't have any helpful information. I just wanted to chime in and say what a cute idea that is. Good luck!

I suggest posting on craigslist.org. Or searching it. You might get lucky there.

Why not use stitch witchery (or whatever that iron-activated adhesive stuff is called)? Then all you have to do is iron, cut, arrange, and iron again. It might not look great after multiple washings, but if it's just for a b-day party and you're on a budget . . .

I seriously was just about to chime in that hey, applique is period -- and then I remembered that this is for 1950, not 1450.
Damn that toilet seat has me going back in time. Do you know anyone with a programmable sewing/embroidery machine? I know several folks up here, but that's not going to help you.
