What's up, Doc?

I came across this CD at the library today. I'm getting a real kick out of it. I can see all these cartoons as clear as day when I listen to it.

Just thought I'd share for all you animation-philes. I'm sure Mousepod has a million or so collections like this one...

I absolutely love the Warner Bros cartoons. (Is it ok for a Disney fan to say that? )Carl Stalling's music is so wonderful and it looks like they picked out some great stuff for the CD. Happy listening!

Thank you! If you enjoy this, you might also enjoy http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...music&n=507846 The Carl Stalling Project. It has demo tracks and other stuff, fascinating. And yes, I have the Looney Tunes collection Vol. 3 on pre-order. I love Disney, but any studio that gives me What's Opera Doc, Porky in Wackyland and The Three Little Bops (among hundreds of other classics) is a must have! Of course, you can always go to the Looney Tunes Sound Source online for downloads http://www.nonstick.com/sounds/

A little bit of trivia for you ... it was the great (though long forgotten) Eddie Cantor who writ' Merrily We Roll Along (aka Merrie Melodies/Bug Bunny Cartoon theme).

When I was a kid a local UHF station in the Bay Area (KBHK 44) used to have Cantor marathons all the time.

OMG, I have not thought of Channel 44 in eons! Then again, I remember Carol Doda as "the Perfect 36" in San Jose. They played GREAT old films even if using her was, well, tacky - since I was 8 years old, what did I know. For 44 I watched the Avengers.
