Is time of the essence?
Or are there days to spare?
Am I feeling apathetic?
Or do I really care?
Confusion takes a hold on me.
Tears blinding what my eyes can see.
I do not know which way is up.
My lips pull draughts from a bitter cup.
Are the moments slipping from my hand?
Love and hope blow by like sand.
My heart sounds with a hollow knell.
Happiness rings like an empty bell.
Joy is not to be my welcome feast.
Loneliness being such a familiar beast.
Loss and pain like teeth to rend.
Is there ever to be a balm to mend?
There are no emotions in a heart of stone.
Throughout forever, will I stand alone?
