Notable Deaths in 2006
I always read these re-caps to see what I missed. The two that I wasn't aware of that are meaningful to me are Nam June Paik and Anita O'Day.

I hadn't realized there were so many that have left us this year.
And the person on Dec. 26, hadn't heard of that at all. Thank you for the list.

I had missed that Dana Reeve died (not that it is particularly relevant to me). The other day I was flipping channels and Larry King Live was running an interview with her and at the bottom it said "Dana Reeve dies."
I thought it was current news and moved on. I guess they were doing a "year in review" show and that just happened to be a clip from last March. Somehow I had missed (or forgot) Maureen Stapleton. |

Damn. I didn't know about Billy Preston. I just watched him perform a fantastic "Nothing From Nothing" on the first episode of Saturday Night Live. (I have the complete first season box set.) That episode also has two great Janis Ian songs.

Former 'Zoom' Actor Jared Nathan Dies
He was from the second generation of Zoom - never saw him. But the Zoom kids were always a special breed.

I've never heard of either version of Zoom, is this something that is/was really big and I'm out of it?
Yet another reminder to thank the pervasive non-active spiritual force of the universe for not having kids (that is, no reason to pretend that PBS is worth watching). |

Absent from the list off the top of my head are Mike Evans, the first, and the coolest, Lionel Jefferson, and Trevor Berbick, the last man to beat Muhammad Ali and the first to surrender his title to Mike Tyson.
