R.I.P. Iwao Takamoto
First it was Joe Barbera, now it's Takamoto, the designer of Scooby Doo, among others.
He worked at Disney through 1961 and worked on Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and more. Here's a link to the story on cartoonbrew.

Rakamoto red? ruh-oh!
Takamoto didn't enjoy as much name recognition as some other animators, but he has certainly left a legacy. Scooby is a timeless character that will no doubt outlive us. (As will his spiritual twin Astro), but I am most in debt for Takamoto's design of lovely Penelope Pitstop. Ahhh, Penelope... |
