Alouwhat!?
For no apparent reason, I had the old children's song "Aloutte" stuck in my head today. Singing it all day, it occurred to me that I have absolutely no idea what the lyrics mean. I know a little bit of French, but, save for a few articles and such, nothing in Alouette is familiar to me.
So I looked up the lyrics and used Google to translate them: Lark, nice lark Lark, I will pluck you. I will pluck your head I will pluck your head And your head and your head Lark, nice lark Lark, I will pluck you Lark, nice lark Lark, I will pluck you.
