Sarkozy, a law and order hardliner, who wants the French to work harder and pay less tax, and would restore France's strength and renew voters' faith in politics. Wants to promote overtime, restrict union powers and protect French business if elected. He also says he will create a Ministry of Immigration and National Identity

Since it doesn't much matter to me who is president of France I am rooting for the "curiously hot" (as Jon Stewart said) one.

I guess some of the hard line socialists in France aren't very happy about Sarkozy winning.

I find it interesting that one of the first things Sarkozy did was to reach out to the USA by stating we will have a friend and an ally in France. I don't know anything about the campaign, but I wonder if that was one of his campaign points.
