Southern Baptists Approve Meaningless Resolution!
This just in, Toxic sludge in our rivers is bad, but could be part of God's overall plan!
Many baptists worry something may be done about things that harm us! Originally, the measure also backed more government-funded research into global warming's causes and alternative energies to oil. But the resolution was amended to drop that language, in part over concerns that it would endorse strong government engagement in the issue. Other baptists worry that saving the planet could get in the way of influencing judicial appointments! Other evangelicals say talking about the issue at all diminishes their influence over more traditional culture war issues such as abortion, gay marriage and judicial appointments.

Wow. - "government engagement," "judicial appointments," "culture war issues," - Now, what exactly do God, Jesus or the Bible have to do with any of this? Shouldn't these people at least try to mix a little bit of church in with all that state?
