				            | Not as far as I know. Maybe for economic reasons but other than that they eat meat. Just not beef.

				            | As said, no no necessarily, though many are. About half of the Hindus I work with (40+) are. It is a requirement, however, to live a sattvic lifestyle (kind of like a monastic life for a Catholic). Just as with Christianity there are many flavors and levels of devoutness and interpretation, particularly on how far non-violence is to be taken. I wouldn't want to get on that plane though, if the airline is relying on sacrificing goats to keep it in the air. Up in Alaska we did a sightseeing flight in a small plane and I was pleased to see a copy of Skeptical Inquirer on the pilot's desk. Say what you will about skepticism, but I was reassured to know that our pilot wasn't relying on God to to keep things flying. |

				            | To be fair, every airline has its "cursed" planes. One airline I worked at had a plane it called Christine and another it called Sybil. But do I think you can "exorcise" it with a dead goat? No, not really. No more than I think you can exorcise the demons of a Ford by cracking an egg on its hood. At some point you just lemon law the damn thing and move on.
